E4 Definition  

E4, or MIDI 64, is the fourth E from the left on a standard piano keyboard and the first E above middle C. It is represented on sheet music by the lowest of the five lines on the treble staff. E4 has a frequency of 329.63Hz with standard pitch tuning, which is double the frequency of E3 (164.81Hz) and half the frequency of E5 (659.26Hz).
