A demisemiquaver, also called a thirty-second note, is a note with a duration of 1/32 that of a whole note (or semibreve). It is also half as long as a sixteenth note (or semiquaver) and twice as long as a sixty-fourth note (or hemidemisemiquaver).
Demisemiquavers are notated by oval, filled-in noteheads and straight note stems with three flags or beams. A single demisemiquaver note is always stemmed with flags, while two or more are usually beamed in groups. A related symbol is the demisemiquaver rest, which denotes a silence for the same duration as a demisemiquaver.
