Orchestral music is music that is written for and/or performed by an orchestra. It usually refers to music for a large or medium sized orchestra with fifty to a hundred or more musicians rather than a chamber orchestra. Among the various genres of orchestral music are symphonies, concertos, tone poems, overtures and suites, usually from ballets and operas.
