Musical sound broadly defined is any sound that is purposely included in music. As music of recent decades has incorporated virtually every imaginable type of sound, both natural and artificially produced, almost any sound could thus be considered musical sound with this definition. A narrower definition is sounds produced by conventional musical instruments, including the human voice, for use in music. Sound that is not musical is noise.
