MIDI Keyboard Definition

A MIDI keyboard is a piano-like keyboard that is attached to a computer or other electronic music-making device, usually by a USB cable. Unlike piano keyboards and keyboards of other instruments, MIDI keyboards do not produce any sound on their own, but rather just send MIDI data, including the name, duration and volume of each note, to the synthesizer or other music-making software.
